On Saturday, 16th November 2019, 80 Volunteers comprising members of New Acropolis (Main Centre) and students of B D Somani School (Cuffe Parade, Mumbai) conducted a Mangrove Cleaning and Restoration Drive with the support of BMC (A Ward) and Colaba Pumping Station.
Despite the physically exhausting challenge, the volunteers built four small check-dams to help prevent soil erosion and cleaned the area, collecting 65 bags of plastic, rubber and fabric waste.
This is the latest in a series of Mangrove restoration drives undertaken by New Acropolis, demonstrating Volunteering as “Philosophy in Action”.
