New Acropolis Pune Branch hosted a talk titled “Art of Listening – to Inspire Creativity” on  25 October 2025. Shraddha Shetty, branch manager of New Acropolis Pune, explained how attentive listening can become a key to unlocking creativity and understanding life’s deeper meaning. Reading excerpts from the article “Song of Life” by Theosophist N. Sri Ram,  she reflected on the idea that when we truly listen, we connect with the unity that underlies all life.

Drawing wisdom from H.P. Blavatsky’s  book “Voice of the Silence”, she discussed the nature of the mind and how one can cultivate inner silence to perceive the subtler “voice” within.

Explaining the important role of love in listening,  she described it as a motor that propels us to listen closely and deeply to life, which in turn enhances and refines our ability to engage with life meaningfully rather than simply bide time. Using Plato’s “Allegory of the chariot” she threw light on the symbolism of the two horses drawing the chariot, the white horse representing moral aspiration and the black horse representing our desires. The charioteer, representing our inner self must help guide these with effort but also a heroic spirit to achieve harmony and alignment with life’s purpose.

The talk was followed by an interactive  discussion over refreshments while participants engaged in the Wheel of Virtues activity—reflecting on the virtues and sharing insights.
