New Acropolis Pune Branch hosted a talk titled “Serving with an Open Heart – Lessons from Nature” on 6 December 2025.

The speaker explained the concept of service through examples from Nature, highlighting love as an essential quality in order to serve with an open heart, quoting poet Hafez on the concept of the unconditional love —

“The sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky”

Using examples of the willow tree which bends but does not break and that of rivers finding their way through obstacles , and of plants growing through tiny cracks in walls. The speaker highlighted the virtues of determination, tenacity. Practicing these in our daily lives can help us find problems to our solutions and inspire us to persevere, seek solutions, and continue forward even in difficult circumstances.

The talk highlighted how Order in Nature creates harmony and a symbiosis, right from the way the planets are organised, to the structure of a flower, every element in nature may work seemingly independently but for the purpose of the whole.

Drawing a parallel from this , we too can learn the true nature of service when we recognise our own place within it. The talk encouraged participants to observe Nature as a source of practical wisdom to be unveiled. The evening concluded with interactions with New Acropolis Pune volunteers over tea and coffee, followed by an engaging “Wheel of Virtues” spin-wheel activity.
