A talk titled “Growing through Pressure – Lessons from Tibetan Buddhism” was conducted by New Acropolis Pune branch on 23 August 2025. Branch manager Shraddha Shetty explored how we are often afraid of pressure and either avoid it or act under it, assuming it is essential for growth.
“Challenging this notion she emphasized that pressure should not be at the center of life—instead, lasting values and life purpose must take that place.”
Concentration, she noted, is key to reconnecting with this inner center amid daily challenges.
Drawing from Tibetan Buddhism’s concept of Vajrayana or Way of the Diamond, the talk used the analogy of diamond and graphite—both made of carbon, yet vastly different due to structure. Just as a diamond is forged under pressure into something strong and brilliant, we too can grow stronger by reorganizing ourselves around timeless values.
The session concluded with practical concentration exercises and interactive discussions, offering participants a glimpse into the Living Philosophy course—a 16-week introduction to practical philosophy offered by New Acropolis.
